only thing they ever asked me was to verify that I had placed the order when they called.

look, two kinds of people buy ISK with cash.
new players who want to set themselves up PvPers who cant be arsed to mine-rat-mission-explore for cash
thoes people will keep buying GTC/plexes reguardless of the IG price because its not the Gold farmers and the card goes to someone who wants to keep playing the game.
thoes who just want starting cash now just need to buy 1 card
thoes who want a big bankroll will continue to buy as many as they can afford.
the way I see it they may have actualy reduced the supply sightly since now noone needs to buy 2 plexes when they only need one? |

According to the patch notes thread it will be added in 2 weeks. |

what i really dont' understand why everyone has sudennly assumed that there are about to be some unexpected fluciotations of the price.
i've read a ccp's note about plexes and about changes and havent found anything that would affect the price in any way.
maybe i am reading the wrong lines
but
"CCP has not made any special exceptions for the PLEX items. They are treated as regular in-game items with regards to market orders and contracts..."
maybe someone is trying to crash a market and uses new patch notes as a provocation
Like I said elsewhere the only thing I see is that people who used to have to pay for 2 when they just wanted one will now just pay for 1. fewer plexes going into the market, but with the same demand mean prices will probably go up a bit. |

Originally by: Alex555 perhaps the phrase that ccp is planning to sell plexes has caused some panic on the market, but look at it from different perspective - they want to sell plexes, but any price they would charge would be considered as unfair, because there was no fair price before.
Alex555 what the <<ARROW>> are you talking about? CCP is aparently going to charge somewhere between $14.95 and $18.95 per plex.
They are not buyable from CCP for ISK. |

Again this is how scamming in game money will eventually become a real crime, because you can convert this in game money into real money. Maybe not in Eve's time, but sometime in the future of MMOs.

Quote: Build 72263 to 75453 addresses Patch Notes for Quantum Rise 1.0.5
Patch notes for Quantum Rise 1.0.5, released 27 January 2009
FEATURES
Redeeming System
The redeeming system allows players to take advantage of special offers made available by CCP and affiliated companies. In this release, the redeeming system will allow for game time credit to be purchased via the Secure EVE Online website in the form of 30 Day Pilot License Extensions (PLEX). More information about the use of PLEX can be found here.
the price I posted was in a thread on the DE forums where a mod said they would announce it probably next week after replying where someone speculated that it would be somewhere between the current sub price and half the current GTC price. I scrambled the coment about the price with the moderators post.

The current plan is to open the web frontend in the next 2 weeks.

Edited by: Raymon James on 31/01/2009 01:35:51 Edited by: Raymon James on 31/01/2009 01:33:07 ok I am seeing some EXTREMLY Clueless arguments on this topic.
Allowing GTCs to be stored in game as plex is a win for CCP. they are literaly the Gift certificates for EVE online. they can stick the value in the bank untill they are redeemed for game time, (and even then if you cash in two or more on the same account they can spread it out over the 30 day periods.
Granted some buisesses do have a habit of spending it as soon as it comes in, but I suspect that CCP is aware that they have a definit cycle to their subscribers and are a bit conservative about when they book income from subscriptions and Gamecards. (Especialy since they take in money in USD Euroes and Pounds and they have to deal with a local currency that to put it charitably goes through more Gyrations than a hula dancer trying to Hula on a rollercoaster.)
